Revision control, IFD to as-built
Every issue of every drawing diffed against the last, with each change shown on the sheet and carried into the register, from issued-for-design to as-built.

- Works with
- Document controllers, project engineers and field engineers
- Starts from
- Each new drawing issue, as it arrives
- Delivers
- A structured diff per revision and a register that stays current
01
Summary
On a large project, drawings are reissued constantly: IFD, IFC, revision after revision, then redlines and as-builts. Revision clouds catch some changes and miss others. Checking a reissue against the previous one by eye is slow, and the changes that slip through become rework in the field.
Operon reads each issue into structured data and compares it with the previous one item by item: what was added, removed or changed, with the change highlighted on both sheets. The register updates with it, so the team always works from the current state of every tag, line and spec.
02
Inputs and outputs
What goes in
- Drawing issues as they are transmitted, as PDF or CAD exports
- Transmittals and revision logs
- The current register or line list
- Field redlines, when the as-builts are prepared
What comes out
- A diff per revision: added, removed and changed items
- Each change shown on both sheets, clouded or not
- An updated register with the source of every change
- A history of every tag across all issues

Your team
01
Take in the issue
Operon

Your team
Transmits drawings as usual.
02
Diff
Operon
Compares item by item, including changes that were never clouded.
Your team
Reviews the diff instead of the whole sheet.
03
Trace the impact
Operon
Lists the lines, instruments and equipment connected to each change.
Your team
Decides what the change means for fabrication, procurement and the field.
04
Update the register
Operon
Carries verified changes into the register, linked to the revision that made them.
Your team
Signs off the update.
