PHA & HAZOP preparation
Node lists and the changes since the last study, drafted from current, verified P&IDs, so the team spends the study on hazards rather than catching up.

- Works with
- Process safety engineers and PHA facilitators
- Starts from
- Current P&IDs, the last study and the MOCs since
- Delivers
- A study pack: proposed nodes, changes since last time, open actions
01
Summary
A PHA revalidation starts with preparation that can take weeks: confirming the P&IDs are current, working out what changed since the last study, proposing nodes, and gathering the design data the team will need in the room. When the preparation is thin, the study spends its most expensive hours catching up.
Operon drafts the preparation from verified data. It compares the current P&IDs with the set the last study used, lists every change and the MOC behind it, proposes nodes along the process lines, and collects the equipment and relief data each node needs. The facilitator edits a draft instead of building one.

Inputs and outputs
What goes in
- Current P&IDs for the units under study
- The P&ID set and report from the last study
- MOC records since the last study
- Equipment and relief device data
What comes out
- Changes since the last study, each linked to its MOC
- Proposed nodes with their boundaries marked on the drawings
- Design data per node: equipment, relief devices and set points
- Open recommendations from the previous study

01
Compare with the last study
Operon

02
Propose nodes
Operon
Proposes nodes along the process lines, marked on the drawings.
Your team
The facilitator adjusts the boundaries.

The study stays human
Operon prepares. Hazard identification and risk judgments stay with the PHA team.
Verified inputs only
Nodes and data come from P&IDs your engineers have verified.

Getting started
Send the P&IDs and report from your last study of one unit, with the MOCs since. We return the study pack for that unit, so your facilitator can judge it against their own preparation.
First results within a week. Live in three weeks.
- The last study's P&ID set and report for one unit
- Current P&IDs for that unit
- The MOCs since the last study
