Brownfield digitization
Decades of scanned drawings and obsolete CAD turned into a structured register the field team verifies, before anyone plans a walkdown.

- Works with
- Operations and maintenance engineers, brownfield project teams
- Starts from
- Legacy scans, old CAD and whatever registers exist
- Delivers
- A verified register and a list of what to check on site
01
Summary
Older plants run on drawings that have been scanned, marked up and rescanned for decades. Tags were renamed, equipment was replaced, and the CAD files, if they exist, don't match the scans. Every brownfield project starts by finding out what is actually there.
Operon reads the legacy set, scans included, into a structured register: equipment, lines, instruments and valves, each with its source sheet and a confidence score. Conflicts between sources become a targeted list for the walkdown, so field time goes to confirming what is uncertain rather than surveying everything.

What comes out
- A structured register with a source and a confidence score for every item
- Conflicts between drawings and registers

- Verified data ready for the project's tools

How it runs
Step
Operon
Your team
01
Read every source
Operon
Reads scans, CAD and registers, and records where each item was found.
Your team
Shares whatever exists, in whatever state it is in.
02
Reconcile the sources
Operon
Matches the same tag across scans, CAD and registers, and flags conflicts.
Your team
Explains renamed or replaced equipment where it is known.
03
Plan the walkdown
Operon
Produces a list of items to confirm, grouped by area.
Your team
Walks down only what is uncertain.
04
Close the loop
Operon
Carries field results back into the register.
Your team
Signs off the verified register.

Checks built in
Built for poor scans
Faded, skewed and hand-marked sheets are read, and low-confidence items are flagged rather than guessed.
The field has the last word
What the walkdown confirms overrides the drawings, and the record of both is kept.
06
Getting started
Send the drawings for one unit exactly as they are, scans and all. We return a register and a walkdown list for that unit, so your team can test both on site.
First results within a week. Live in three weeks.
- Every drawing for one unit, in any condition
- Any equipment or line lists for that unit
- Recent MOCs or redlines
